AAIE exhibition Can I tell you? - Nordine Sajot Curated by Michela Becchis From April 15, 2026 to May 10th 2026 On the occasion of the first solo exhibition Can I tell you? by Nordine Sajot at AAIE Center for Contemporary Art, a series of works produced at different times is presented, intentionally referring us to the relativity of the concept of the “here and now” with photographs, installations, hybrid objects, engravings and sculptures. Through her writing, Michela Becchis invites us to carefully read the multiple layers of interpretation within the artist’s linguistic and visual structure: “Let us begin with the word consumare, which can claim to derive from two Latin verbs: consumere and consummare. The first has the etymological meaning of ‘to take entirely,’ and thus ‘to remove completely’; the second, that of ‘to sum up definitively.’ It is within these two meanings that the artist opens the door to this work. It is within this difficult synthesis—because, if we think about it, ‘to remove completely’ and ‘to sum up definitively’ appear irreconcilable—and yet the life of the Great Consumer, of that part of the world that lives to consume, unfolds precisely within this contradiction, which only apparently does not disorient.” “Nordine creates a relationship between excess and the essential. Faced with excess, she places the negation of what is essential for survival, an unmet demand that transforms real need into a negligible remainder.” We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday, April 15 from 6:00 PM for the vernissage. The exhibition period will be punctuated by presentations of new works and projects connected to the show, also accompanied by tastings of wines and spirits from companies that have initiated collaborations with the artist.
